Jeannine Long was elected NFRW secretary at the 34th Biennial Convention in Palm Springs and assumed the position in January 2008. She also has served as NFRW member-at-large.
In 1991 she first joined two Oklahoma City area Republican Women's Clubs; in 1992 she returned to Enid and joined the 56-member Garfield County Republican Women's Club. After serving in other elective positions, she was club president in 1995-1996 when it became the largest in Oklahoma at that time, with 189 members.
Long became an active member of the OFRW Board of Directors, serving in various offices and as state newsletter editor, before her election as State President in 2001 and reelection in 2003. The OFRW received the 2003 Betty Heitman State of Excellence Award and the 2005 State of Achievement Award.
Long was a member of the host committee for the 2004 Tribute to Laura Bush Luncheon in New York, served as 2004-2005 State Presidents' Coordinator, 2005 Nominating Committee Chair, and was a finalist for the 2005 Ronald Reagan Leadership Award.
A grassroots campaign volunteer in her local party, Long has served on the Oklahoma Republican Party Executive Committee, was a delegate to the 2004 Republican National Convention, and active in the 72-Hour Task Force. In 2004 she received the RNC President's Circle Award and the RNC Outstanding Team Leader award.
Long retired in 1997 from a 30-year career as a freelance court reporter. Genealogy is Long's hobby; she is a member of several lineage societies. She and her husband have seven children between them.
