Sharon Sollenbarger was elected NFRW 3rd vice president at the 34th Biennial Convention in Palm Springs and assumed the position in January 2008.
An Ohio native who grew up in the Southwest, Sollenbarger met and married her husband, Roger, in Santa Fe, N.M., and he brought her home to Colorado. They “retired” to a ranch (no cows or chickens) in 1991 near Gateway.
In the mid-1990s, they went to town to “see if they could help” the local Republican Party. Sollenbarger became active with Mesa County RW and later with Colorado FRW. She served CFRW in many capacities, including president, 1st and 4th vice presidents and district director. She also sits on the Mesa County Citizens’ Review Panel for the Human Services Department.
Between them, the Sollenbargers have four children, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
