Nora Kearns of Pennsylvania Kearns took a special interest in supporting the first Republican U.S. president in two decades. She traveled to Los Angeles on the Campaign Express for Eisenhower, originated the Lincoln Day Box Supper and organized the cross-country Platter-Chatter Wives for Victory program. She was a political science, drama and history teacher and wrote, directed and produced numerous plays and pageants. She held membership in close to 100 civic, patriotic and political organizations.
