Kingfisher County Republican Women
Kingfisher County Republican Women’s Club was organized in 2003 and has 70 enthusiastic members.
The club sponsors the Marie Cooper Memorial Scholarship, which awards a $1,000 scholarship annually to one deserving high school senior based on grades and an essay submitted. Books are distributed to Kingfisher County schools each year through the Mamie Eisenhower Library Project.
The club was awarded the Gold NFRW Club Achievement Award for 2012-13 and had four members attend the 2013 NFRW Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. One member serves as Oklahoma FRW 3rd Vice President and another serves as OFRW Third District Director.
The club hosted a special membership recruitment event that featured an ice cream social, along with a flag retirement ceremony performed by a local Boy Scout troop. An Oklahoma manufacturer of drones presented an interesting program on the domestic use of drones, along with possible legislative controls that are being proposed.
In addition, candidate forums featuring candidates for various county and state offices have been held. Three members of the Oklahoma Senate and House serve our area, and members have helped with mailings, distributed literature and made calls for their campaigns. Members staff the Kingfisher County Republican booth at the county fair, helping to distribute Republican literature and candidate information, and the club holds a voter registration drive each spring in county high schools in an effort to register new Republican voters.
