Republican Women of North Collin County (RWNCC) is a dynamic club in north central Texas. While only four years old (federated in 2011), it has already increased from a small to a large club and is well-known in the region for having the best programs around. Speakers have included congressmen, senators, and even a presidential candidate. But the most famous and frequently requested program is the biennial Meet the Mayors meeting featuring mayors from all over the county.
RWNCC is innovative! Thinking outside the box is especially important when fundraising. When challenged to come up with an alternative to silent auctions, members began an annual Holiday Home Tour. Then in the spring, they hosted cooking demonstrations with a local chef just in time for Easter.
Most importantly, these ladies are involved in their community. When they're not campaigning or working on legislation, ongoing relationships with the Samaritan Inn and Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County (BGCCC) have made it possible for members to have a meaningful impact on those in need. The club's annual Baby Shower for Samaritan Inn is always hugely successful, and collections of school supplies, books, and craft supplies are much appreciated by BGCCC.
Additionally, care packages are routinely sent to deployed servicemen through Airborne Angels, and $3,000 in college scholarships was recently awarded at the annual Hats Off to Education Dinner. RWNCC may be young, but it is mighty!
