Founded in 1947, Camano Island Women’s Republican Club (CIWRC) of Washington is one of the oldest clubs in the country. The club joined the Washington Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women in 1948.
Members have been an active, integral part of the Stanwood-Camano area for more than 65 years, contributing time and treasure to support Republican goals and values with emphasis on educating and empowering women in the political process.
Contributions to the community include donations to Housing Hope Teens, American Hero Quilts and elementary school scholarships. Members have co-sponsored and staffed the Stanwood Republican Headquarters and participated in the Camano Center Women’s Expo and the Washington State Department of Transportation Free Coffee Program for I-5 travelers on an annual basis. The club also holds annual Mother-Daughter Tea scholarship fundraisers and supports Republican candidates by providing opportunities to meet the public at open forums, rallies and the community fair each year.
