The highlight of the year for Ponderosa Republican Women is the “Gala Silent Auction” held in December. Pictured at the 2015 event are several of the club's past presidents and the husband of a past president and founding member who recently passed away.
Ponderosa Republican Women
Ponderosa Republican Women of Spokane, Washington, received its charter in 1995 and has about 100 members who come together from all over the county and surrounding area.
Ponderosa is highly regarded in the community for its excellent programs and outreach and is known as the "go to group." Candidates and elected officials are regulars at meetings and offer guests a chance for conversation.
In Eastern Washington where Spokane is located, the native evergreen tree, the Ponderosa pine, stands tall and strong. Likewise, Ponderosa Republican Women stand together for the freedoms we all hold dear. Our grassroots efforts support education, political activity and relationship-building in the community.
The women of Ponderosa are very active in local, state and federal legislation. You will find members at forums, campaign events, and city council meetings giving testimony and voice to important issues. The Ponderosa Board works with Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, House Republican Conference Chair, on hot topics of the day.
Fundraising events go on through-out the year to help with outreach programs and candidate support. The highlight of the year is the “Gala Silent Auction” held in December. A local ministry speaker, a holiday buffet with music and a room filled with items for auction make for a merry ending year. Last year’s auction raised more than $2,000.
