Welcome to the Party, Terrie Frankel! Terrie celebrated her first anniversary as a member of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) on February 22.
Terrie, who had been a Democrat her entire adult life, said that like many others who had become disillusioned with the Democrat Party of this era, she found herself switching parties. According to Terrie, "Along came a candidate from the other side who made a lot of sense, an extraordinarily honest, shoot from the hip presidential candidate named Donald J. Trump."
Terrie's words are inspiring:
"My patriotism inspired the writing of the song 'America the Beautiful, Red White and Blue,' which I showed to my mentor, Patt Parker of the NFRW. Patt had the idea to use the song during the 2016 Destination: White House campaign tour across America. The bus tour was conceived and championed by NFRW President Carrie Almond and was a resounding success!
"Shortly after the historic Election Day win of President Donald J. Trump, Patt suggested making a video to congratulate our new President with this musical tribute to the American Flag. Next, we made personalized congratulatory videos for Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to our President, and each of the women Cabinet members: Nikki Haley, Ambassador to the United Nations; Elaine L. Chao, Secretary of Transportation; and Betsy DeVos, Secretary of Education. Again, these videos proved to be a resounding success!
"I am honored to be a member of the NFRW which, together with President Donald J. Trump, continues to support our glorious American Flag and goes all out everyday to 'Make America Great Again.'”
Terrie and her twin sister Jennie were born into a patriotic family of Democrats during World War II. Mom worked at the Post Exchange and Dad was an Army staff sergeant. Terrie says that her dad became a "stage father" as the talented sisters performed at the VFW's in Chicago, as well as for the Red Cross, the Great Lakes Naval Hospital. TV fame came to Terrie and Jennie as they became the Doublemint Twins in commercials, and that led to a 1968 USO tour in Vietnam. Terrie, whose sister died the year that Obama was elected, still is a champion of veterans' causes. A resident of Sedona, Arizona, and an active member of Yavapai County Republican Women, Terrie is a lifetime member of the Sedona Marine Corps League, serves on the committee of the Verde Valley Military Service Park, is an honorary commander of the 944th Medical Squadron at Luke Air Force Base, and is an escort on the World War II Veterans' Honor Flights to Washington, D.C.
In Trump she found someone "who vowed to take care of our vets, and restore respect for our country, our military and our law enforcement." To not only "Make America Great Again," but to "Make it Safe Again."
This proud Republican patriot has found her home and is sharing her music with the new President of the United States and her new NFRW sisters. In addition to writing the beautiful tribute song, "America, the Beautiful, Red White and Blue," Terrie personalized it with tributes to the President and to the women confirmed to his Cabinet and Kellyanne Conway. She also got copyrights for the photos, and produced and directed each segment A wonderful gift!
Welcome to the NFRW, and thank you!
