ARLINGTON, Va. – The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) elected Louisiana Republican leader JoAnn Parker to serve as treasurer for the 2016-2017 term. The election took place during the NFRW Spring Board Meeting, held March 17-19 in Arlington.
Parker, a resident of New Iberia, was elected to fill the position, which had been vacant since the beginning of the year. She took office immediately.
At the time of the election, Parker was serving as a member-at-large to the Executive Committee. She has been active in the organization for many years, previously serving as fundraising committee chairman and in several other leadership roles.
“We are thrilled to have JoAnn guide us in the role of treasurer,” NFRW President Carrie Almond said. “She brings experience, talent, vision and passion to our team, and we are looking forward to working toward our shared goal of electing the Republican presidential nominee in November.”
Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation, making it one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country. The grassroots organization works to promote the principles and objectives of the Republican Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through political education and activity, and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
