ARLINGTON, Va.– The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) elected New York Republican leader Ann Salpeter Schockett to the NFRW Executive Committee for the 2016-2017 term. The election took place during the NFRW Spring Board Meeting, held March 17-19 in Arlington.
Schockett, a resident of Woodmere, was elected member-at-large to the NFRW Executive Committee and took office immediately. At the time of the election, she was serving as president of the New York State Federation of Republican Women.
“We are thrilled to have Ann on our national team,” NFRW President Carrie Almond said. “She brings experience, talent, vision and passion to our table, and we are looking forward to working toward our shared goal of electing the Republican presidential nominee in November.”
Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation, making it one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country. The grassroots organization works to promote the principles and objectives of the Republican Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through political education and activity, and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
