ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) has approved the charter of a Republican women’s club in Texas.
Alamo Heights Republican Women was chartered August 3 with 33 members. Karen Newton of San Antonio will lead the club as president this year. Club members meet the last Wednesday of the month at various locations in the San Antonio area.
“The NFRW is pleased to welcome this club into our nationwide network of grassroots leaders,” NFRW President Carrie Almond said. “We look forward to working with Karen and club members to promote Republican principles and elect Republican candidates during this 2016 election cycle and beyond.”
Annual club dues are $25. These dues also cover membership in the NFRW and in the Texas Federation of Republican Women. The club was organized to accommodate area women whose schedules do not allow them to attend lunch meetings. For additional membership information or other details, contact Newton at email@example.com or find the club on Facebook.
Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation, making it one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country. The grassroots organization works to promote the principles and objectives of the Republican Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through political education and activity, and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
