National
Federation of Republican Women
Visits President, Mrs. Bush at White House
WASHINGTON, D.C. – More than 275 leaders of the National
Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) visited the White House
for afternoon tea on March 12.
Mrs. Bush invited the NFRW to the White
House to thank the organization for its participation in
education and literacy programs and to encourage members to
continue their education advocacy efforts. The NFRW’s Capitol
Regents also met with President George W. Bush in the Oval
Office.
Group photographs of the Regents and
individual photographs of the Capitol Regents with Mrs. Bush
were taken in the Blue Room. Attendees enjoyed refreshments on
the State Floor of the White House, where they had the
opportunity to view the historic furnishings and art work in the
Red, Blue and Green rooms, the State Dining Room and the East
Room.
Founded in 1938, the NFRW is one of the
largest women’s political organizations in the country with more
than 1,800 local clubs in all 50 states and in the U.S.
territories. The grassroots organization recruits and elects
Republican candidates, advocates the Party’s philosophy and
initiatives, and empowers women in the political process.
