HIGHLIGHTS:
LEGISLATIVE DAY
More than 100 NFRW members donned their "red coats" and traveled to the U.S. Capitol for the NFRW's biennial Legislative Day on March 25. Activities included remarks from various speakers (including two dozen Republican senators and representatives), visits with elected officials, an opening reception honoring Republican elected officials, and a group photo on the Capitol steps (right). The day concluded with a dinner hosted by Kathy Brugger and Jean Lu at the Capitol Hill Club.

PELOSI TEA PARTY
Republican women filled the hallway outside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office armed with empty tea bags, which signified their protest of the Democrat spending agenda. "Our ladies made sure Speaker Pelosi knows we are against the unsustainable spending that has come from the Speaker's office since the first of the year," said Martha Jenkins, vice chair of the NFRW Public Relations Committee. With the help of Texas Federation President Toni Anne Dashiell, the committee sent out a news release March 23 that resulted in a mention of the "Pelosi Tea Party" on Neil Cavuto's Fox News show and coverage of the event by CNN.
CAPITOL REGENTS AND REGENTS EVENT
On March 26, approximately 70 NFRW Regents and Capitol Regents enjoyed an afternoon luncheon at the prestigious Washington Club. They were joined by Congresswoman Jean Schmidt (R-OH) who gave an inspirational speech.
