Celebrating 90 Years of Woman Suffrage
This week, our nation is celebrating the 90th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which extended voting rights to women in 1920. The NFRW, which was established just 18 years later, has always championed voting rights, particularly for women. As we celebrate this landmark in American history, let us remember that the Republican Party and Republican women were the primary force behind the woman suffrage movement and the passage of the 19th Amendment.
