PRESIDENT'S BIOGRAPHY

Joyce A. Grant has been an active member of the Pennsylvania Federation of Republican Women (PFRW) and the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) for many years. She has served as a vice president and has chaired or been a member of several special committees. Joyce has been a member of the NFRW Achievement Awards Committee since 2006. She was a member of the Anne B. Anstine Women in Excellence Program Advisory Board in 2007 and 2008. She also was a member of the planning committee for the Peggy Madigan Scholarship Luncheon – Anne B. Anstine Women in Excellence Program from 2003 to 2007.

Joyce was president of the Bradford County Council of Republican Women from 1998 to 2000. She was program chairman from 2001 to 2003 and served as special events chair from 2003 to 2006.

An active grassroots Republican, Joyce chaired the Women’s Coalition for President Bush in Bradford County in 2004. She is a local precinct committeewoman for Burlington Township and has campaigned at the local level for numerous Republican candidates.

The Grant Family has moved several times over the years, and Joyce has been an active member of the community wherever the family has lived. She was a volunteer with the Worcester Aid to Children in Worcester, Mass. When she and her family lived in New Jersey, she was involved with the Food Pantry in Camden and was a library volunteer at the Lenape High School in Medford.

Joyce was a medical technologist at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, from 1963 to 1964. From 1984 to 1986, she was a substitute teacher in the libraries of three high schools in a regional system. She also served as a permanent substitute teacher at Lenape High School.

Joyce and her husband, Ed, have five children and eight grandchildren. They live in Burlington Township in Bradford County.

FEDERATION PROFILE

The Pennsylvania FRW is a charter state of the NFRW. It is divided into six districts and has 48 councils. Members participate in local and state phone banks, mailings and luncheons. Community service activities include the Salvation Army, naturalization events and scholarship programs. Members also educate women about GOP principles and policies, stimulate interest in public issues, act as a clearing house for Republican women's activities, provide a center for political education, legislative information and practical service, and increase the number of Republican women voters and elected officials.
