Club Co-Sponsors Riley Gaines Event

On April 2nd, the Cleveland County Republican Women's Club - along with the Cleveland County GOP - co-sponsored an event with the OU chapter of Turning Point USA at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. The event featured Riley Gaines, former collegiate swin champion who is an advocate for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.

The lecture hall was filled to capacity with around 400 university students and others. Club members and student volunteers had the opportunity to have individual photos taken with Ms. Gaines.

A few days before the event, posters/flyers/yard signs announcing the event were vandalized, defaced and stolen. However, the April 2 event encountered no problems. Protesters were there, but the great majority stayed outside the building. It was reported to Club President Suzanne Ashmore that one protester attempted to tear up the club table but was stopped by police.

This was a great event, and CCRWC members are proud to have been a part of it.
