Back the Badge: Support Law Enforcement, First Responders & Military
Concho Valley Republican Women held a “Back the Badge” event May 15, 2021. After a year of COVID restrictions, we were once again ready to host an event to honor our local law enforcement, first responders, and military.
After a recent tragedy in a nearby small town, we lost two deputies in Coke County. Concho Valley Republican Women felt it was the perfect time to celebrate and honor our law enforcement, first responders, and military as we had for many years prior. The event was held at our local San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, and they were so gracious and supportive of our event, the venue was gratis.
A meal of pulled pork, sausage and all the trimmings were supplied free of charge for all who attended. There were also to-go meals provided to the police station, Jail, and sheriff’s office. The pulled pork was donated by two local businessmen who have generously donated to this event for years. All the other items were donated by Concho Valley Republican Women Members. To-Go Snacks and treats were also available along with “Survival Kits” to all who attended and also sent along with to-go meals.
Approximately 75 – 100 members of law enforcement, first responders, and military, as well as their families, joined us for “Back the Badge”. There was food, fun, fellowship, and prayer for all to enjoy. I think the Concho Valley Republican Women Members loved this event as much as anyone who attended.
Families were encouraged to attend our event. A clown making balloon animals and a Bounce House were also on site for the little ones to enjoy. An impromptu car show popped up in the parking lot of the Museum along with a delightful lady selling t-shirts raising funds for the survivors of the fallen deputies from Coke County.
Concho Valley Republican Women are blessed to live and have the privilege to host this event in this wonderfully giving community.
