Club Kick-Off Program
Newly-chartered Seminole Republican Women Federated of Florida kicked-off their first program and general membership meeting to a full house. The meeting featured a "Seminole County Update" with speaker Commissioner Jay Zembower and a tribute to the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and first responders.
We also honored the 13 fallen soldiers in Afghanistan. A table with place cards and settings was set for the 13 soldiers, real firemen helmets were supplied for table decor, and patriotic bunting and banners were placed thoughout the facility.
First responders were invited guests and Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Chris Anderson, who was a first responder and a combat vet from Afghanistan, offered a 9/11 anniversary prayer in addition to a reading of the names of the 13 fallen soldiers. The commissioner explained the details of the COVID relief funds the county received, what they are required to do with those funds and why the 5-seat all Republican commission kept the money. If Seminole didn't accept the money the government was sending, another county would receive it so they decided Seminole County residents should benefit!
It was a memorable evening with many candidates and elected officials!
