Club Tours Georgia Governor's Mansion
Greater Fayette Republican Women's Club members and friends met at the Georgia governor's mansion on July 20 for a tour of the historic home. State President Pam Lightsey joined the group for the tour. Several club members served as volunteer docents/tour guides at the mansion.
The day of "Fun and Georgia History" was the idea of GFRWC 1st VP Jennifer Lunsford. "Everyone had such a good time of much needed fellowship. I hope this will be the first of many trips in Georgia to learn more about our rich history," Lunsford said.
Club President Angela Bean said, "Many of the ladies who went with us were not members of our club yet, but this outing made them want to join because they got to know us better. Getting away from politics for a fun outing turned out to be a great way to make new friends who are like-minded and grow our membership as they learn that they can have a voice in our community."
