Club Celebrates 60 years of History
Plano Republican Women of Texas celebrated its fantastic 60-year history this summer with a fun and groovy 60s party at the Plano Event Center. The event was complete with a DJ playing the 60s greatest hits, 60s costumes, professional photo booth, dancing, and prizes.
The entirety of PRW’s photo albums that had been carefully maintained by members for over 60 years (and lugged from house to house) were scanned and digitized prior to the event. The highlights were placed into a 20-minute slideshow and played throughout the evening on a jumbo screen.
Plano Republican Women started in 1962 at a time when Collin County was very "blue." As the decades passed, Collin County turned "red" thanks in part to our motivated members.
Members, spouses, sponsors, and friends joined us for this milestone occasion. Even Texas’ very own TFRW President Kit Whitehill joined us, along with other TFRW board members.
We pay homage to all those ladies who began our club and kept it going for an incredible six decades! We’re fired up and we’ll keep it going!
