Club Wraps Up 2022
Wood County Republican Women's Club (OH) enjoyed Gary Varvel, political cartoonist from Indiana, at the Fall Dinner. Gary reviewed our elections and hope for the future with his cartoons and his background with cartoons.
President Beverley Hirzel reviewed the year: increase in members but a loss of a few that have moved or passed away; awarding two $1,000 scholarships to female high school graduates that live in Wood County; Tribute to Women Award to club Treasurer Denise Niese; and finally elections for 2023-2024 by Nominating Chair Becky Bhaer.
Leading the club in 2023-2024 are the following: President Bev Hirzel, 1st VP Rosemary Patten, 2nd VP Brenda Robson, Treasurer Denise Niese and Secretary Tracey Pritts.
We held a Coffee with the State and Local Candidates in March, had a silent auction for scholarship funds at the Wood County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner, worked the Wood County Fair GOP building, helped our local and state candidates with door knocking, events attended, and those members that worked the elections and/or are Precinct Chairmen.
We were sad to see Deb LeGalley moved to South Carolina and the passing of Evelyn Bachman, lawyer, leader, and good friend to all.
We look to 2024 for the promise that our Republican Party will follow the values of their voters. We will be there to help them!
