Club Honors Veterans on Wreaths Across America Rememberance Day
Greater Fayette Republican Women’s Club (GA) Armed Services Committee, led by Chair Cathy Vaught, recommended the club participate in the 2022 Wreaths Across America project.
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 3,700 locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.
GFRWC chose local cemetery, Camp Memorial Park, with over 650 veteran graves to honor the veterans with a wreath. The club members worked hard to gather the sponsorships needed to ensure every veteran possible was honored for the national Remembrance Day, December 17, 2022. All wreaths sponsored through the club earned cash back from Wreaths Across America so the club can continue their mission to support the Armed Services.
Working with the veteran clubs in Fayette County, the club will be able to donate over $1,000 to support Fayette veterans.
