Club Hosts 7th District Spring Meeting
Saturday, April 22, Republican Women of Jasper County, Missouri, hosted the 7th District Spring Meeting at Old Chicago Pizza in Joplin.
Our Caring for America project was collecting items for women rescued from sex trafficking. We selected Choices Crisis Center in Joplin. This organization works with RISE, Regional Intervention of Sexual Exploitation Fighting Human Trafficking Together. When the women are rescued from a traficking situation, they don't have anything except the clothes on their backs. Choices collects items for a Go Bag to give to these ladies when they are rescued. Items collected: travel-sized toiletries, pajamas, shirts, yoga pants, socks, small stuffed animals, sunglasses and small fleece throws.
Our own state Rep. Ann Kelley provided a legislataive update, and special guest speaker was Kay Hoflander, former MOGOP chair,jJournalist and author. She just released her book, Musings of a Baby Boomer: Life Before X, Y, and Z.
It was a lovely day with the ladies of the 7th District!
