Club Declares Constitution Week 2024 at County Commission Meeting
On September 11, Josephine County Republican Women attended the County Commissioners business meeting, where they read a proclamation declaring September 17-23, 2024, as Constitution Week, with September 17 being Constitution Day. President Linda Smith received the actual proclamation from Commissioner Andreas Blech (pictured).
In 2004, Public Law 108-447, Section 111, was passed requiring the following: "Each educational institution that receives federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an education program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution."
