Club Remembers Member and Honors Her Service

Wood County Republican Women's Club has experienced a great loss with the recent passing of Denise Niese. Denise was one of the "original 13" who helped to recharter WCRWC in 2016. She was also the club treasurer for a few years. More important to our community, she was director of the Wood County Committee on Aging. Her leadership brought a new $8 million building to the county. Her leadership brought new ideas and guidance to help senior citizens in the State of Ohio. She testified before a Senate hearing on senior needs across Ohio and other states. She was a Northwood School Board Member, a wife, mother and grandmother, and a friend to all she met and helped along her way to a beautiful life. She recently helped her mother celebrate a 100th birthday. Words cannot describe the loss we all feel. Her famous saying, "Oh honey, it will be okay," will always echo among those who heard those words and felt better. Denise knew how to listen to help and guide those who were the most vunerable in our community.

As we seem to speed into 2025, the new leaders of WCRWC will carry a youthful outlook to grow the club and present programs and opportunitites to educate women about the organization and the Republican Party. We wish them success. I thank those who helped since 2016 and stayed to continue to help us grow and improve our club and community. There is much to do for our club and commuity. Books for children, continuing the scholarships that we have been able to award, helping women compete for political office in Ohio and beyond. I know we will do all of this and more!
