Club Caring for America Project Benefits Baldwin County Sheriff's Boys Ranch

South Baldwin Republican Women's 2024-2025 Caring for America project benefits the Baldwin County Sheriff's Boys Ranch.

When we met with Sheriff Huey "Hoss" Mack to discuss what our club could do to help him and the Sheriff's Department in Baldwin County,  he imediately said the Boys Ranch needs help. Our thoughts of helping his officers in some way was not what was needed. He reported that many organizations within our county are already helping to provide his officers with snacks, drinks, and items to stay somewhat cool in our extreme heat.

So several board members met with the director and his wife to discuss their needs. There are 19 boys currently at the ranch, 14 children of house parents, and four sets of house parents. They have many needs.

Our club has bought households goods (imagine washing clothes for 33 children), snacks for a trip to the beach last fall, canned goods, tickets to the annual fundraiser. We have given them gifts of money. We brought Christmas cheer to each child with a gift card that they requested. We wanted to be sure they had gifts on Christmas morning and an opportunity to buy something for themselves.

We will continue to work with the ranch this year and have started making plans.
