From the NFRW Armed Services Committee
November 11 is a day set aside to honor all veterans of all periods for their service to our country.
This year our veterans need to hear that their service is appreciated, especially after the debacle of pulling out of Afghanistan. Reach out and thank veterans you know … and don’t just wait until Veterans Day. It is also a good time to undertake an armed services project for veterans in your area.
It's a slap in the face that the current administration wants to pay illegal immigrants $450,000 (or encourage the courts to rule for this ridiculous finding) when very little is done for our homeless, disabled, and other veterans? Our veterans patriotically stepped forward to support our country. Too many gave the ultimate sacrifice and too many gave limbs, eyesight, and more. Why would we as a nation support funding those who come into our country illegally but stand by while many of our veterans struggle for daily survival?
Tell your legislators and others that our veterans must be supported with better health care and job training, and a place to stay until they are on their feet.
Today and every day, thank as many veterans as you can!
