A Message from NFRW President Eileen Sobjack
March is Women’s History Month. The 2022 theme is “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope” – a tribute to the work of women caregivers and frontline workers. This month I hope you will recognize and thank our women who are in the healing professions.
One of my favorite political figures is the Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher, the longest serving prime minister in the United Kingdom. Other favorites are Marie Curie, the physicist and chemist who discovered polonium and radium, and Mother Theresa, who put others before her own needs and wants. The Suffragists are celebrated as courageous women, as is Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. The list of women in history who stand out is endless.
In addition, there are the mothers and grandmothers who sacrificed of themselves to raise their families and are examples of honorable women. I’m thankful for each one of you and all you do as Republican Women. This year will be demanding as you balance your work, family, and political responsibilities. Your sacrifice of time and energy could make the difference in the 2022 elections!
Early March is the harbinger of Spring, and I couldn’t resist planting some pansies at headquarters. The colors I chose were blue and yellow in recognition of the people of Ukraine. Please keep Ukraine in your prayers.
