From the NFRW Armed Services Committee
November is Military Family Month, where we get a chance to acknowledge the many sacrifices endured and contributions made by our military members and their families.
Very few vocations other than military service call for extended separations and numerous family moves, all while performing stressful and dangerous tasks for the sake of others. Military service calls for deep commitment, self-less dedication, and a can-do spirit – not only from the military member himself/herself – but from the spouse, children and other dependent family members.
This is especially true now, as we have units stood up for possible deployment to the crisis in Israel. Deployments can be an especially stressful time as families await their loved one’s safe return.
November is a good time to seek out military families in your community who may need help cutting their lawn, trimming shrubs, shoveling snow, bringing a meal, baby-sitting, and/or other acts of kindness to show your appreciation for their contributions and sacrifices they make for the nation.
