A Message From NFRW President Julie Harris
As we enter Memorial Day weekend, it is important to remember the true purpose of this federal holiday. It is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is a time to pay tribute to those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms and way of life.
For many, Memorial Day signifies the start of summer, a time for barbecues and family gatherings. However, we must not let the festivities overshadow the true meaning of this day. It is a time to give honor and display love and loyalty for our country and our fallen heroes.
For some, Memorial Day is deeply personal as they remember and mourn the loss of a loved one. It is a time of reflection and remembrance to keep their memory alive.
The beauty of love is its infinite depth, but that depth can also bring deep pain. As we enjoy this three-day weekend with our loved ones, we honor and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Let us take a moment to pray for the families and friends who are spending this weekend in mourning.
We are blessed to live in the greatest nation on earth, thanks to the bravery and sacrifice of our fallen heroes. They deserve our respect, our gratitude, and our eternal remembrance.
