ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) strongly condemns the recent assassination attempts against President Donald Trump and calls on the media, candidates and all Americans to acknowledge the grave consequences of words, phrases and actions which can lead to life threatening attacks.

“It is shocking to see not just one, but two attempts made on the life of a former United States president and current presidential candidate,” NFRW President Julie Harris said. “These horrific acts are not only an attack on President Trump and our freedom, but also meant to intimidate Americans.”

According to the Congressional Research Service, there have been 15 assassination attempts against United States presidents and presidential candidates and three more since its publication. President Trump has now become one of two with two direct attempts against their life in the entire history of America with President Gerald Ford being the first to survive the attempts.

“The fact that Homeland Security has failed to prevent these heinous acts is deeply troubling,” President Harris continued. “Our nation is facing a serious threat, and it is critical that immediate action be taken to ensure the safety and security of President Trump.

“We will not be bullied or scared into silence. We will continue to work tirelessly to support President Trump’s reelection campaign and fight to save America from those who seek to harm our democracy.”

As an organization of over 60,000 members, the NFRW is committed to standing with President Trump and defending the freedom of all Americans. The NFRW urges all Americans to come together and denounce these violent acts. We must stand united in our efforts to protect our country and preserve the values that make America great.

Founded in 1938, the National Federation of Republican Women is the largest grassroots Republican women’s organization in the country. Building leaders, energizing communities and keeping America strong, NFRW empowers women from all backgrounds in the political process and provides a forum for women to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas.
