June 12, 2023 will mark the 6^th time we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the groundbreaking Women's Armed Services Integration Act legislation signed into law by President Harry S. Truman on June 12, 1948.  This law allowed women to serve as regular members of the military.

Operation OVERLOAD was the code name for the long-awaited Allied invasion into France. American forces had already been fighting in Africa and Italy, as well as in the Pacific.  June 6, 1944, General Dwight D. Eisenhower was supreme commander of the operation that ultimately involved the coordinated efforts of 12 nations. Surprise was an essential element of the Allied invasion plan, as the Germans had 55 divisions in France.  

June is National Caribbean American Heritage Month. It has been officially celebrated since 2006 when President George W. Bush signed the proclamation recognizing the contributions to this nation by Caribbean Americans.   

Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in 1971. It is observed on the last Monday of May when we honor veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. military in defense of our American values and way of life.

The Tennessee Federation of Republican Women's Spring Board Meeting featured U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty, who gave a rousing call to action and answered questions.
