On March 25, we honor those service members recognized for their heroism with the Medal of Honor. The Medal of Honor is our nation’s highest military decoration for valor and is the only military decoration worn around the neck.

In the NFRW President’s office is a map of the United States. You can’t miss it! It takes up an entire wall. When I look at the map, it is a reminder of our influential grassroots reach of Republican sisters.

March is Women’s History Month, but the Armed Services Committee would like you to think of it as NFRW Women Veterans Month. NFRW has many female veteran members scattered throughout the clubs. Some of these women are retired, and some only did a few years, but they all volunteered to serve their country.

On 13 March we celebrate the National K9 Birthday and honor military working dogs.

For those of you who are new to your positions, we want to communicate that Armed Services is a separate committee from Caring for America, and we have separate awards. If you have questions concerning what is an Armed Services versus Caring For America project, please ask us early on so you know which track you are taking.
