The question: "This Week's Question: During his State of the Union Address, President Trump called on Congress to ban late term abortions. Should Congress pass this federal legislation?", is a bit confusing. It can be taken two ways. 1) It asks if the late term abortion legislation should pass and 2) if President Trumps' request to ban late term abortion should be passed. My preference is to BAN late term abortion. Please clarify the question so that when answered there is no confusion as to what the question is.

I strongly believe that late term abortion should be banned. Even if one can justify abortion in the early stages, a late-term abortion is very different. Science tells us that the baby is able to feel the pain of having it's brain severed from the spinal cord, and the dismemberment that sometimes follows. Unfortunately, many who support late term abortion are completely unaware of precisely what takes place or that the procedure is so barbaric. I believe better knowledge would persuade many to ban the procedure. But do I believe that Congress would enact such a law? Sadly, no, I do not.

Yes they should ban late term abortion. I am pro-life and don't understand how a woman can carry a BABY for nine months and then say "i've decided I don't want it and have it killed as it is being born or just after birth." Don't doctors take an oath to "Do no harm?" If someone doesn't want their baby, they should be strong enough to have it and adopt it out or at least abort as soon as they find they are pregnant. If an animation of the procedure or real pictures were to be seen by congress and everyone else, this procedure would be ended but the left and media won't allow it! Money talks and that is another reason Planned Parenthood needs to be defunded!!!

The entire question of Abortion does not belong in the political arena. Thinking legislation will solve a social and personal moral issue is delusional.

Yes, I strongly believe that Congress should pass legislation banning late term abortions. The USA is among only 6 other developed nations in the world that allows late term abortions: China, North Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Netherlands, and Canada. And late term abortions are not in line with the views of most Americans today. 2/3rds of Americans, including 60% of women, believe late term abortions should be illegal. Americans understand how barbaric this procedure is and that the child in the womb after 20 weeks (5 months) of age can definitely feel pain when its spinal cord is severed. The Democrats’ cruel and barbaric view about late term abortions should be made abundantly clear in ALL Republican candidate television ads in our 2020 election. The majority of Americans do NOT want this and will vote against this barbarism. I am so grateful that we have a President who has the courage to fight for LIFE and who supports a CULTURE in America that cherishes the most innocent and vulnerable in our society.

I have such mixed emotions on this issue I certainly believe as K.L. says this should not be in the political arena. I classify myself as Pro-choice/pro-life and do believe decisions on abortion are and should be made within the family and dr. of the woman. Abortion just for birth control, although sometimes has its place, is not my preference but I am also not willing to send women back to coat hangars and other methods of abortion. There are medical reasons for abortions, as well as in the case of rape and incest, that may justify its existence. But again it is not, nor should it be a political football I have issue with late term abortions based on someone's choice....and certainly not killing a baby who is viable after he/she is out of the womb. In the case of the health of the mother these things usually can be addressed in the first trimester.

Make up your mind. It is so sad to read here that abortion is “ok the first trimester” or should be left up to the woman. And should not be political? It is political, saying it should not be is unrealistic.

This is another good way to prepare for exams and a lot of students do this just before the exams. You can add one more thing is do some practice with these poll questions then it will help you more.
