For all the handwringing on both the left and the right over this, it is not a freedom of speech issue. President Trump revoked Brennan's security clearance because Brennan helped perpetrate the Russian collusion fraud, and then lied about it under oath. He certainly has the right now to say any buffoonish things he wishes. As for the argument that the fallout among intelligence operatives should have been a reason to refrain from revoking Brennan's clearance, Trump can use the list of those signing on to support Brennan to identify the politicized Obama holdovers who need to be replaced.

I worked for DOD and when I moved and left the job I had to surrender all of my credentials before I walked out the door. There should be no favors cast in government to continue using security clearances. This is just money grubbing advantages that need to be stopped. Please do not tell me our President has to go 'back to' former classified people for advice. He and other President's have had the people necessary to help them at every turn. Stop the madness.

yes, yes, yes. Once you leave government in any capacity all of your privileges and percs should be returned. If at any time, you are needed for consultation, which is what they are claiming is the reason for keeping their clearance, it should be relatively easy to bring someone up-to-date on a program or circumstances. Just because it has 'always been done this way' is not a sufficient reason to continue any practice. Time to STOP it.

I agree with the above comments. I also worked for the DOD and did not retain my clearance when I left. Security clearances should be on a need-to-know basis. Once a person leaves, there is no longer a need-to-know. Why Brennan would expect to keep his clearance when he said such disgusting things about President Trump is beyond belief. Maybe we need a test for stability as well.

Long overdue. Brennan is a disgrace to the justice system. Security Clearance should not be automatic upon retirement and should not be held more than 1-2 years after retirement . If needed at some time in the future, it can be renewed when needed.

My Secret, Top Secret clearances were DEACTIVATED when I left NAVSEA, DOD &, GSA.

Although, my Clearance Account (as well as Brennan's) still exist in confidential cover, the Security levels are deactive.

Unless you are detailed to a highly classified (deep cover), all clearances SHOULD BE DEACTIVATED.

This opens two (2) questions:

- Why does Brennan believe he should have an ACTIVE CLEARANCE?

- Did the previous Administration assign Brennan to a Non-disclosed Operation (who does he really report to?)?

If it had been available in the tick-off box above, I would have said "Hell, yes"!

He and along w/others are not entitled to keep sec clr forever..When you loose

your job you loose your clearance.

The word "Treason" needs to be used in our language today. This would clean/clear the marsh. Sends a message to those who are in/or our of the system and also sends a message to those who are coming into the system. Treason applies to those in office and those who are those who are citizens.

Once out of office all security clearances should cease.

Brennan has behaved so irrationally lately, I think he is a security risk. He may even be in the early stages of Alzheimer's.

I emailed them a month ago. I got back a reply basically saying they felt military spending was more important than the health care of their constituents.

ICE is essential to our country until the US has a strong Immigration policy - without it the US will not be a nation of strong laws and it will always have the same border problems.
