The U.S. is considering easing sanctions with Venezuela so Chevron can resume pumping oil there. In exchange, Venezuela would consider implementing free elections in 2024. Do you support this?

No, First, they need to implement free elections. Then sanctions can be lifted.

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that the Biden administration was considering easing sanctions on Venezuela so that the US corporation Chevron could continue to exploit oil in this Latin American country.

The Biden administration is so very concerned about going "green" and doing away with fossil fuels. Does the oil from Venezuela contain such pristine properties that it burns cleaner than oil from the United States? Since when does the US trust Venezuela to conduct fair elections when the US does not conduct fair elections? The Biden Administration must truly believe the citizens of the United States are a bunch of moronic rubes who believe any stupid thing they dish out. Time to vote them out!

No - I would want more "assurances" about a free election.... even though I'm not sure how "fair" it would be.

Odessa TX over OPEC . Texas has more reserves of crude than the entire country of Venezuela. Why would we go elsewhere to but oil when we have it right here . Government regulations and Green New Deal are killing the oil industry. Texas can supply the entire United States. Biden is depleting our oil reserve but America and giving or selling to our enemies namely China. My club ECRW is very active in promoting Republicans and bragging on our Petroleum industry of the Permian Basin

After reading an editorial article titled "Conservatives should back descheduling of marijuana" written by Mark Meuser, CA Republican candidate for US Senate, on the Opinion page of the Orange County (CA) Register, I am convinced that individual states should rule on this, not the federal government. Meuser is a Constitutional attorney with the Dhillon Law Group, and has brought multiple lawsuits against our CA Governor about his unlawful and unconstitutional use of executive privilege to institute multiple lockdowns. Our CA state of emergency for Covid will not be lifted until Feb. 23rd, 2023, according to a recent news article!!!

As a retired pharma rep and having called on many psychiatrists and neurologists over the years, I can say from personal encounters with these physicians that they feel that marijuana is a gateway drug to harder chemicals. We do not need to add this to the personal problems of so many. I have friends who will also agree having lost children/grandchildren because of marijuana leading to stronger chemicals. JUST SAY NO!!

On the drug issue, they certainly should consider if it was for personal use or were they intending to sell or distribute. A blanket decision in anything is questionable. There must be lines drawn that cannot be crosses. There is not enough discipline today and it is not taught.

The United States is considering easing sanctions on Venezuela so that Chevron can resume pumping oil there. This would be a major boon for the Venezuelan economy, as it would allow the company to resume its operations with impunity. The sanctions were put in place after Venezuela refused to allow Chevron to resume drilling in the country.
