NO. The federal governement has no business interfering in the free market of ideas and production of any product or service outside of those proven to be needed for basic consumer safety. We must shrink Federal governement creep.

In gas vehicles it works fine and many enjoy and rely on the AM stations now. Not sure about Ev's, I would not own one. Safety alerts usually come over AM stations, local news, emergency notifications, and talk radio shows. AM radio is the backbone of our National Warning System. Let's save the AM radio stations!

Yes, AM stations should be available. Many citizens rely on the AM station for their local news. Since many newspapers have discontinued publishing papers, for some this is their only new stations.

hmmm. I would say let the free market work, but AM stations are used for safety alerts. Also, the reason that auto makers want to do away with AM radio in cars is that AM doesn't work well in EV cars or it is more expensive to have AM radio work correctly in EV cars.

The problem with not having AM radio frequencies is that this could pose a huge communication gap especially within the realm of emergency broadcasting. Keep in mind, too, that many conservative talk shows are broadcasted on AM radio locally....

I do believe that the federal government should require auto makers to include a.m. radio otherwise conservative voices will be silenced. I know that there are other options to listen to conservatives in 2023 and I don’t like the fed having too much control over anything but I don’t like the fact that dissenting voices will be censored

The federal government should not require AM radios in cars, but we consumers should make it clear to car manufacturers that we demand AM radios in our cars. But to be effective, consumers will have to avoid buying cars that don't include them and buy from car makers who offer AM radios.

Why can't the automakers leave the am radio portion alone? It is important for us to be able to get information not available on fm or the other options. There shouldn't be a need to ask the federal government for any permission, however why would the automakers make the choice to remove the option on the first place? One guess would be the government has already been involved

How about we get rid of the EV cars instead and reduce the problems that come with Lithium batteries. Both in the acquisition of the raw material to make them and the disposal problem taken care of. Lithium batteries are a bigger threat to our environment and human rights than cows will ever be.
