Should Donald Trump participate in the first Republican presidential debate on August 23?
Vote in the poll: www.nfrw.org.

We all know Trump’s views. If he participates, he will take up all the time. I would rather get an in depth look at the other candidates for future elections.

Trump cannot win regardless of Biden’s poor Presidency! We need fresh candidates who share Conservative Republican values. I love DeSantis as out Governor but he has created some seriously negative press about his personality.

I think former President Trump owes it to his constituents to be present on the debate stage. On the other hand, I agree with R. Stein's post about getting an in depth look at the other candidates. So, having said that, maybe Trump should skip the first debate in Milwaukee and participate in the rest of the debates.

No. Let all the wanna-be’s weed each other out to where it’s not a complete circus when he appears. Most know what Donald wants to get done because he did it once. Why be there to hear insults.

If a candidate has percentage of vote to qualify for debate, what can possibly be the question?
Carol, 8/6/2023 5:35 AM
Of course the decision belongs to President Donald Trump if he decides to participate in the first Republican presidential debate on August 23, 2023 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
First Amendment protects freedom of speech. 🇺🇸
"So far, seven candidates have qualified for the first debate: former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum...Trump, the field’s early front-runner, long ago met the polling and fundraising thresholds but has said that he might skip the Milwaukee debate and hold a competing campaign event of his own. ..Two hopefuls, former Vice President Mike Pence and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, have met the polling requirements but not yet secured the needed number of unique donors."

Whether or not President Trump will take part in the first Republican presidential debate scheduled on August 23, 2023 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is entirely up to him.

I think the former President should attend. I like Governor DeSantis because he is the only Veteran running, has the family unit, and no baggage, He will implement the Republican policies. We must get a Republican in the Executive Office. So the loyalty pledge is important. The winner of the Primary must beat the Democrats. We need the supporters of any candidate, including Trumps, to back the Republican. We will lose if Trump wins the Primary. And we will lose if Trump doesn't back the Primary winner. Trump has followers who will do whatever he says.

When former President Nixon got in trouble, he resigned for the good of the country. We need someone who considers the good of the country. If former President Trump can't sign the loyalty pledge to the Republican Party candidate, then he should do what is best for our country, and our party, and bow out. Otherwise, sign it and go to the debate. I am ready to move on.

Surprising to see so many women supporting Trump after evidence indicating he lies & cheats on his taxes, business partners, bank loans, multiple wives, even his golf scores, brags about groping women, has *26* credible accusations of sexual assault (and/or r*pe), and seems to have auctioned off $2B worth of TOP SECRET military intelligence to violent, extremist al-Wahhabi Muslims.

I do not deny the experience of the candidates who are planning to run for president, but the world is changing, and therefore we need new people and politicians.
