Should RFK Jr. be allowed to participate in the upcoming presidential debate on June 27?

If RFK Jr. is allowed to participate, he sees himself as effectively running against Trump. He could actually mount strong objections thus letting Biden off the hook and RFK Jr. may gain some traction. He would likely take the focus off Biden and be a shiny object that people are looking at, instead of the two titans. Analysts mostly say that he will pull votes away from Biden, thus helping Trump.
It is a very interesting question with no clear answer.

It's my understanding that RFK, Jr. Is polling at approximately 20% of the vote. That's not an insignificant number, and so it's unfair to exclude him. If RFK, Jr is allowed to participate in the debate, his numbers are likely to increase. The habit of excluding candidates that don't belong to either of the two main parties is designed to prevent an independent from gaining the traction needed to win the presidency. Personally, I do not intend to vote for Kennedy, but I'm still in favor of giving him an equal opportunity to present his viewpoint.

No because the less time President Biden has to speak the better it is for him. I really don't think he can make it through a 2 hour debate but Kennedy would take time from both candidates which will be most beneficial to President Biden.

I think we should leave it to President Trump to decide on what he feels is best for his campaign, and we should support his decision here rather than coming up with an alternative that may or may not fit with the campaign teams' strategy

No. Let Trump & Biden have the first one alone. But I too would defer to Trump Team preference.
Can they guarantee no interference from “the basement” to Biden’s ear pieces?

Public interest in a candidate can be a significant factor. If there is a substantial segment of the population interested in RFK Jr.'s platform and ideas, it would be in the public's interest to hear from him during the debates.
