I think this is dangerous. It presumes that Congress has the authority to regulate the Supreme Court, which they do not as co-equal branches of government. Chief Justice Roberts should refuse to be interrogated by the Democrats in Congress. My opinion would not change if a Republican-majority Congress tried to do the same to a liberal-majority Supreme Court. However, I firmly believe the Democrats in Congress would not do this if the justices were majority-progressive. It's no coincidence that they waited until a more conservative court was in place to think they should regulate SCOTUS.
